Like every vehicle on the road, trucks require maintenance. Having a truck maintenance list on hand to go over is important to making sure you are staying proactive and DOT compliant. Using these checklists will not only help drivers, but also the technicians who are going to be servicing the truck. Whether you have one or multiple trucks, fleet maintenance is important to ensure your trucks stay on the road in the best shape possible.

The short answer: streamline the maintenance process. With a checklist in hand, mechanics can check all parts of the truck, without missing anything. Checklists are also a great tool to maximize time efficiently and organize what needs done where. This helps the trucks get in and out for their maintenance requirements and back on the road with their drivers.

Identifying current or recurring issues with a truck can end up being a costly repair. Using a checklist can save on repair costs by detecting problems early on and lower the amount of downtime on a truck.

When trucks are thoroughly maintained, they are overall safer for the road. In the trucking industry, there are federal and state regulations that mandate certain maintenance checks. For example, the EPA requires vehicle inspection and maintenance regarding emissions.
