Temperature Controlled

J Boren & Son’s Trucking temperature-controlled trailers are capable of a 100-degree temperature-controlled range, hauling products at minus 20 degrees up to 80 degrees.

  • We haul a variety of perishable products, such as ice cream, meat, dairy products, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, and products that manufacturers don’t want to freeze in the winter, such as laundry detergents, paints, adhesives and magnetic strips.
  • Our reefer trailers are capable of bulkhead loads, with a thermal barrier to allow for hauling different temperature products at the same time.
  • We have the capability to meet the most stringent of quality control guidelines including hazmat, pharmaceutical and food & beverage.

Temperature-controlled shipping, also known as “reefer shipping,” is an excellent option for transporting items over long distances in a safe and controlled environment. Refrigerated cargo transportation allows perishable food items, medicines, and other temperature-sensitive materials to be shipped without worrying about damage from external temperature fluctuations. Keeping the environment inside the reefer trailer dark prevents produce from ripening during transport.

The primary benefit of temp-controlled shipping is the precise temperature settings inside the container during transit, for example using either continuous mode or cycle century.

The continuous setting is essential and must be used for produce loads. Continuous airflow helps with the heat of product respiration and allows for more consistent temperature during transport.

Cycle century setting is only used for frozen loads that can handle more temperature fluctuations throughout transport.

Ideally, even if your shipment travels through hot or cold climates, your cargo will remain at a steady temperature throughout the journey.

So not only will you have peace of mind knowing that your items are being taken care of, but you can also rest assured that they’ll arrive in perfect condition when they reach their destination.
